Meet Nazarov! This beautiful Russian Blue cat is my constant companion in my studio. Her name comes from Ivan Nazarov, the Russian chemist for whom the Nazarov cyclisation is named for, a reaction that proceeds through divinyl CATion intermediate. It was also the subject of my very first chemistry research project.
She’s pretty great at reminding me when I need to take a take break too.
She likes checking out my work, sleeping on various paintings and drawing, and in true cat fashion, knocking art supplies off my table – does anyone else’s soul hurt a little when they hear a pencil hit the floor?
